Oily skin needs effective cleansing without over-drying, light hydration, and sun protection without extra shine.
Dry skin needs gentle cleansing that keeps its natural oils, deep hydration that lasts all day, and daily sun protection.
Combination skin needs balance: cleansing that targets the T-zone without drying the rest of your face, balanced hydration, and light sun protection.
Sensitive skin needs gentle, irritant-free care: calm cleansing, soothing hydration, and sun protection without irritation.
Because your skin sees the sun every day, a daily SPF 50+ step is essential, not optional.
Even with less sun, keep sun protection as a daily habit.
You want something simple, so these three steps are all you need for now.
You are open to more, so you could add a targeted serum on top of this routine later.
The cleanser is your most important step. It lifts excess oil and pore-clogging build-up without stripping your skin.
Use it once a night, with lukewarm water. Dry skin does not need cleansing twice a day.
Focus the massage on your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and go lighter on the cheeks so drier areas are not stripped.
Massage gently for 30 seconds and rinse with lukewarm water. No cloth and no scrubbing, so nothing gets irritated.
A light texture that absorbs fast. Stripped oily skin produces more oil, so hydrating reduces shine rather than adding to it.
This is the core of your routine. Apply while your skin is still slightly damp to lock hydration in, and repeat at night with a thicker layer.
One even layer over the whole face, with a little extra on the cheeks and drier areas.
Ceramides and hyaluronic acid help rebuild the skin barrier, the single most important thing for sensitive skin.
Light, with no greasy finish. The last step of your morning, straight over your moisturiser.
Apply it about five minutes after your moisturiser so it spreads evenly over dry skin.
The last morning step, over the whole face, including on overcast days.
Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are mineral filters, the calmest kind of protection for sensitive skin.
Do not wash your face more than twice a day. Over-cleansing increases oil production instead of reducing it.
Avoid hot water, and apply moisturiser while your skin is still damp.
You do not need the same amount everywhere: use less on the T-zone and more on the cheeks.
Introduce one new product every two weeks at most, so you can trace any irritation.
Patch-test behind your ear for 24 hours before using any new product for the first time.
Your skin handles new products well, so you can start all three steps together from day one.
For the first week, keep the same steps and change nothing. Consistency gives a clearer result than the number of products.
Swap our products in place of their equivalents in your current routine rather than adding them on top.
A practical rule: two finger-lengths for face and neck, reapplied every 2 to 3 hours while you are outdoors.
Daylight through a window still reaches your skin, so keep sunscreen a daily habit, not a seasonal one.
Starting from scratch is easier than it sounds. Begin with two steps (cleanse and hydrate) for a week until your skin settles, then add sunscreen in the morning.
You already have a steady routine, so there is no need to start over. Swap in one step at a time over two weeks, and keep any actives you already use where they are until your skin is comfortable.
Later, once these three steps have been steady for four weeks, the best next addition for your skin is %s. Elancee does not offer a serum yet; this is general guidance for when you choose one.
a niacinamide serum in the morning, before moisturiser
a hyaluronic acid serum on damp skin, before moisturiser
a niacinamide serum on the T-zone only
a calming panthenol or centella serum at night
